AMOXAL is a broad spectrum antibiotic indicated for the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to amoxicillin. These infections include those of the digestive tract, respiratory tract, urogenital tract, skin and soft tissues. It is also indicated for the treatment of bacterial complications sensitive to amoxicillin.
Amoxicillin, the active ingredient, is a bactericidal beta lactam antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. This mechanism provides activity against a wide range of gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
