It treats and prevents flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis), ear mites (Otodectes cynotis), and circulating microfilariae (Dirofilaria immitis). It also treats gastrointestinal nematodes (Toxocara canis, Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Toxascaris leonina, Trichuris vulpis), chewing lice (Trichodectes canis), sarcoptic mange (Sarcoptes scabiei), demodicosis (Demodex canis), and lungworms (Angiostrongylus vasorum, Crenosoma vulpis). It prevents heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis L3/L4 larvae), subcutaneous dirofilariosis (Dirofilaria repens L3), spirocercosis (Spirocerca lupi), and angiostrongylosis (Angiostrongylus vasorum L4 and immature adults).
Imidacloprid (10%) is a chloronicotinyl ectoparasiticide effective against flea larvae and adults. It spreads rapidly over the skin within the first day of application. Moxidectin (2.5%) is a milbemycin macrocyclic lactone active against many internal and external parasites, including Dirofilaria immitis larvae (L3, L4) and gastrointestinal nematodes. It is absorbed through the skin and reaches peak plasma concentrations in dogs 4 to 9 days after application. It is eliminated slowly from plasma.
Do not use in puppies under 7 weeks, in cases of hypersensitivity to active substances or excipients, or in canaries. Do not administer other macrocyclic lactone antiparasitics during treatment. Possible side effects include temporary pruritus, greasy hair, erythema, vomiting, and rare local hypersensitivity reactions. If the animal licks the application site, transient neurological signs may rarely occur. The medication has a bitter taste.
