ADVOCATE is a spot-on solution for cats suffering from or at risk of mixed parasitic infections. It treats and prevents flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis), treats ear mite infestation (Otodectes cynotis), and treats notoedric mange (Notoedres cati). It also prevents heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis (L3 and L4 larvae) and treats gastrointestinal nematode infections including Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma tubaeforme (L4 larvae, immature and adult stages).
The active ingredients imidacloprid and moxidectin work synergistically. Imidacloprid kills adult fleas on contact, while moxidectin targets internal parasites and heartworm larvae. The solution is applied topically and spreads rapidly over the skin surface.
