ADVOCATE is a spot-on solution for cats suffering from or at risk of mixed parasitic infections. It treats and prevents flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis), treats ear mite infestations (Otodectes cynotis), and treats notoedric mange (Notoedres cati). It also prevents heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis larvae (L3 and L4) and treats gastrointestinal nematode infections including Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma tubaeforme (L4 larvae, immature and mature adults).
The active ingredients are imidacloprid and moxidectin. Imidacloprid kills adult fleas by disrupting nerve transmission, while moxidectin targets mites, heartworm larvae, and intestinal worms by interfering with their nervous system and muscle function.
Efficacy data from clinical studies show ADVOCATE effectively reduces flea burden within 24 hours and provides sustained protection against re-infestation for up to four weeks. It is also highly effective against ear mites and intestinal worms when used as directed.
Each 0.8 mL pipette contains 80 mg imidacloprid and 4 mg moxidectin.
